RACI chart can be defined as a matrix which clarifies roles and
responsibilities across departments, projects, and processes. At
the intersection of role and activity, we can assign somebody
responsible, accountable, consulted or informed of such activity.
Here are the four columns of RACI Chart:-
- Responsible:- The person who performs the
task, assignment or process in hand is responsible for getting the
job done. This person is accountable to others for the execution of
a task.
- Accountable:- The person who is completely
accountable for completion of a task or project in an appropriate
manner. The person responsible is accountable to this person and
this person is accountable for the overall process.
- Consulted:- This person is not directly
involved in the execution of task but he or she is someone who can
assist as an advisor, consultant, stakeholder or a subject matter
expert.
- Informed:- People who need to be updated with
the operations and output of the task or project. They need to be
informed at every vital step.
