2.) Explain how/why all (3) phases of “problem definition” are critical to the development of your survey?
In the “problem definition” the three phases that are vital in survey development are:
(a) survey design: The design of survey identifies the specific areas of work where the assistance from the specialised consultant need to be obtained. It addresses the concerns such as what statistics are produced, when, with what accuracy, and for which population. It involve two main steps: developing the sampling plan and procedures for obtaining estimation on the population from the sample data and for estimation of the reliability of the estimation must be done.
(b) survey instrument development: It need to be preceded by specific prerequisites. The focus of the study need to be defined carefully; the goals have to be translated into measurable factors which makes a contribution to that focus; the researcher need to be ensure on his knowledge in the topic; and need to be administered consistently
(c) survey execution: The third and the last phase emphasized the significance on maintaining the confidentiality of the responses by the individual and reporting survey will results in the aggregate only.
