James-Lange theory |
1.One of the best examples of the physiological theory of emotion. 2. Proposed by American psychologist William James (1884) and Danish physiologist Carl Lange. 2. This theory says that events make physiological arousal first then emotions will experience 3. Emotion depends on how one interprets physiological arousal. |

Balance the importance of both the physiological and emotional aspects of creating emotion. |
Sometimes people experience emotions without even before thinking about it. |
Cannon-Bard theory of emotion |
Proposed by Walter Cannon and Philip Bard. This theory says that people experience physiological arousal and emotions simultaneously. Explained the role of the thalamus in the process of emotion. |
cannon-Bard explained what Lange lacks in his theory. | The major weakness of this theory is false findings of the role of the thalamus in creating emotion. Because Hypothalamus and limbic system play the role in emotion not the thalamus |
