Explanataion :
Gate valves : These valves are provided to regulate the flow of water through the pipe by deviding the mainlines into several sections.These valves are usually placed at the summit of the pressure conduit where the pressure is low.
Air release Valves : These valves are provided at the summit point on upstream and downstream of gate valves to release air pressure and compensate the negative pressure devoloped respectively.
Check Valves : These possess some automatic device which allows the water to flow in one direction only i.e. it prevents the backflow of water.
Surge Valves : These valves are designed to have an adjustible set point that is further being related to maximum pressure to pipeline system.
Globe valves : These kind of valves are similar to gate valves i.e to regaulate the flow of water in the pipeline system.
