why is conditioned weight applied in calculating weight of goods?
The concept of conditioned weight is not applicable to all the goods and services.we apply the conditioned weight concept mainly in the textile industry.
Conditioned weight is the weight of textile material when all the moisture from it has been removed by drying in a special type of woven and then adding standard moisture which is again different for different textile materials.
Conditioned weight is used because of the following reasons
* Materials like wool and silk absorb water.
*Wool can absorb 20 percent of its weight in moisture.so it's vital that weight of wool traded is certified to an agreed regain
In other words, there will be variation in the weight of wool and other textiles due to difference in the amount of moisture it contains.Therefor it's necessary to agree upon a definite amount of a allowable moisture or regain. This issue can be solved with the application of conditioned weight (conditional weight=absolutely dry weight+standard regain for the material)
