Expert Solution

The Correct answer is Option (A)

Trade Conferences and Exhibitions are a very important place where one can meet prospective buyers and sellers.

Generating massive actual and potential customers : This is Not a Disdvantage of having Trade conferences and exhibitions. The need for such events arised from the mismatch . Not all sellers will be able to raise awareness about the products like they do at such exhibitions. Moreover it is at such places where the sellers get to know what are the actual requirements of the buyers. It is due to this reason that in any trade exhibitions there are massive actual as well as potential buyers.

Costs: For a seller to put up his stall he needs to incur not only the charges for rent or space but the cost of staff as well. If participation in exhibitions are to be done in a far off city or in other country then that adds up the travel and accomodation charges as well. The sellers must also design their stalls thereby increasing expenses. This is a Disadvantage of Trade conferences and exhibitions.

Time and effort: Unlike the usual places the sellers sell their product, participation in exhibitions could prove to be a failure. Even after incurring costs and expenses as mentioned in the previous point one might not get the anticipated sell. This can prove to be a time taking as well as loss of effort that could have been channnelised to building up the sales at known places. Hence this is a Disadvantage of Trade Conferences and Exhibitions.

Rivals in the same hallway: One may encounter the competitors in the event as well. The sellers will need to stand out in order to attract potential as well as actual buyers. This can prove to be a addition to cost, time and effort. This will be one of the Disadvantages of Trade Exhibition and Conference as well.
