what is the effect of medical supply and service in corona virus to related in ASEAN
Ever since the outbreak of corana virus there has been an unprecedental surge in the demand of medical equipments and services along with other medicals essential like masks, sanitizer. This has greatly affected the supply chain as people are trying to hoard the medicines buying in bulk. Health care workers depends upon PPE(personal protective equipment), and there has been a global disruption in supply of these and shortage of these are putting health workers in danger.Without secure supply chains, the risk to healthcare workers is real.
ASEAN nations are at the receiving end of corona virus as they are facing shortages of medical supplies and even COVID-19 test kits.Another major problem that has been observed in these countries is lack of transparency when it comes to releasing information about patients which puts the lives of people in great danger as this could mean that medical front liners are left in the dark as they don't k now if they are treating a COVID-19 positive patient or not.
Still ,there has been help from major countries in the region like India and China who are helping them by supplying medicines and other medical equipments.
Economy wise, like all other nations,ASEAN nations are also going to be affected by COVID-19, as the economy is going to take a major hit. The world is heading towards recession as major part of the world is under lockdown. With no economic or limited economic activity, we could see a fall in demand, rise in unemployment in coming quarters.
