pH indicator and pH meter are two methods used for measuring pH values.pH is the measure of concentration of hydronium ions in an aqueous solutions.among this pH meter is more precise.pH range between zero and 7 is acidic and pH 7 is neutral.pH 7-14 indicates base.
pH meter ;for determine pH
1) It measures a solutions pH by measuring the electrical potential difference between the pH electrode
and a reference electrode.this potential converts to pH
2) It require calibration and more precise value than other methods.
3) unlike pH indicator,pH also measures temperature, electrical conductivity, dissolved solids etc
4)compare to pH Indicator it is expensive.
5)higher the concentration of acid, more ions will pass through the membrane.
pH indicator
1) An indicator has specific pH range ,which changes from acid to base.
2) used in acid base titration
3) Indicators inherently measures pH at low accuracy.
4) The colour change shown by the indicator is fairly less
5) phenolphthalein, methyl orange etc are the examples of pH indicator.
