I need to make weibull plots. I was given data in regards to days until mechanical failure of an object.   Shape parameter and Scale parameter are not given. What is the easiest software to use to plot the weibull distribution.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Excel is the best software to create weibull plot.

For example:

Notes:
When x0 = 0 and a = 1, the Weibull distribution transforms into an Exponential distribution with l = 1/b
When a < 1, the hazard function h(t) decreases and f(t) tends towards a Gamma distribution;
When a = 1, the hazard function h(t) is constant and equals l (Exponential distribution failure rate);
When a > 1, the hazard function h(t) increases and f(t) tends towards a Normal distribution (a = 2 corresponds to the Lognormal e a = 3,5 corresponds to the Normal);
