Research the skills gap that exists in America today; the gap between the skills needed in organizations and those found in eligible candidates. There are contradictory ideas of the reason for the gap and how to close that gap. Your initial response should fully address your thoughts on why the gap exists and what you would recommend to close the gap.
The reason for skill gap in America is that people’s professional skills are not up to date. They want to learn a new skill set to land a better-paying, more fulfilling job, but half of them said they can't afford to do so. People need postsecondary education for today’s job. the propel who are qualifies enough for the jobs are not getting appropriate wage premium by the companies suggesting a continued general shortage of workers with the skills employers want. In order to close this gap the education institutes should equip the students with stronger academic, technical and workplace skills. There is a need to have a perfect match between job requirements and worker qualification. Many jobs do not require even a bachelor’s degree.
Contradictory ideas of the reason for the gap is that this is not a skill gap rather employers take longer to fill vacancies and computerized hiring software rules out more candidates based on other factors. In order to close this gap the employers could invest in training, instead of seeing job skills as important determinant.
