How does migration contribute to development? You are to analyse either and/or Immigration and Emigration.
During the last few decades, there has been increasing recognition that migration can be a factor in promoting international development. Typically, migrants don't cut ties with their country of origin and their interaction with the home and home community is the main channel through which migration could benefit development. Through migrants, there can be significant exchange of money, knowledge and ideas between host and home countries.
While migration impacts on development, economic conditions are important migration drivers. For a variety of reasons, people migrate, including searching for better economic opportunities, education, family reunion, and fleeing violence. People frequently migrate for these and other reasons. However, a strong incentive for people to migrate is the expected income gap between developed and developing countries. As such, migration affects development but also migration is affected by development.
Migration helps improve people's quality of life. It helps improve people's social life as they learn about new cultures, customs and languages that help improve people's brotherhood. Migration of skilled workers leads to a greater region's economic growth. Children get better opportunities for higher education.
