In grievance procedures, which type of arbitrator do you predict will be most effective at resolving disputes? What characteristics should that arbitrator have?
It is the institutional arbitrator that will be most effective in dealing with the grievance Procedure and will be able to resolve the dispute, because Institutional arbitrator will actively follow the complaints, issues and concerns and comply with the laws without getting swayed and biased with the emotions. So, this type of arbitrator will work as independent authority with sole objective to deliver justice and resolving the grievances.
The first characteristic is the good understanding of the laws and regulations, related to the dispute and grievances. The second characteristic is the ability to build dialogue and reach underneath the grievances so that disputes can be resolved. The third characteristic is the proactive in negotiation so that both the parties now collaborate and work towards resolving the dispute. It will make both parties to be satisfied with the decisions taken up by arbitrator.
