Tissues:
Tissues are the group of cells that spread throughout the body.the organs are made up of tissues, which performs a specific set of fucntions for the body.
There are four types of tissues defined and classified based on their morphology and function:
Epithelial tissue - Covers the body surface and lines body activities
Connective tissue - Supports and protect body organs
Muscle tissue - Provides movement
Nervous tissue - Provides a rapid internal communication by transmitting electrical impulse
I am considering EPITHELIAL TISSUE as a most important tissue in our body.
Reason:
Epithelial tissue is a major tissue that covers all of the body surfaces line body cavities and hollow organs.
It performed variety of functions like protection, secretion, absorption, excretion, filtration, diffusion and sensory reception.
It forms a thin layer of cells known as Endothelium, which is shared with the inner tissue lining of organs such as the brain, lungs, skin and heart.
Epithelial tissue helps to protect against microorganisms.Best example,Skin is the bodys first line of defense against bacteria, virus and other microbes.
It absorbs nutrients during digestion.
Epithelial tissue in glands secrete hormones, enzymes.
Tissues in kidney excrete wastes and in sweat glands secrete perspiration(give out sweat through the pores of skin)
Epithelial tissue also function in sensory nerves such as tongue, skin, nose and ears
