2.Describe the pathway of auditory nerve signals from the auditory nerve to primary auditory cortex.
3. Describe both conductive and sensorineural hearing loss and why they occur. Can they be treated?
Answer 2.
Auditory Pathway
Answer 3.
Conductive hearing loss
A less common type of hearing loss is conductive hearing loss which occurs when there is an obstruction or damage do the outer or middle ear that we went sounds fun being conducted do in area. Conductive hearing loss maybe permanent or temporary depending on the cause.
Treament
there are sometimes medical or surgical treatment that can improve the hearing ability for those with conductive hearing loss. For example, conductive losses caused by wax impaction.
Sensorineural hearing loss
the most common type of hearing loss is sensorineural. It is a permanent hearing loss that can occur when did is damage too either their tiny hair-like cells of the innerear or the auditory nerve itself, which prevent or weakens the transfer of nerve signals to the brain. These blocked nerve signals carry formation about loudness and clarity of sound
Treatment
There is no medical or surgical method of repairing the tiny hair-like cells of the inner ear or the auditory nerve if they are damaged
