What circumstances led to the 1970's being labeled the "ME" generation? Give some examples. What prompted the "Disco" style of Popular music? Why did Glam Rock artists such as Elton John, David Bowie, Kiss, and Queen become so popular with the "Me Generation"?
A) In 1960 people were just recovering from the world war 2. The ides of the cold war was still fresh in their mind. However in 1970 things began to change and people became interested in bettering themselves. During this period people turned away from large protest movements and focused on themselves. As a result, fashion completely changed, rules were broken and women began to assert themselves socially.
Overall in 1970 people stopped to focus on society and began to think of fixing themselves. Therefore 1970's Is labelled as the ME generation.
B) Disco, beat-driven style of popular music that was the preeminent form of dance music in the 1970s. Disco is a musical style that emerged in the early 1970s from America's urban nightlife scene, where it originated in house parties and makeshift discothèques, reaching its peak popularity between the mid-1970s and early 1980s. A forerunner to disco-style clubs was the private dance parties held by New York City DJ David Mancuso in The Loft, a members-only club in his home in 1970. From 1974 to 1977, disco music continued to increase in popularity as many disco songs topped the charts. In 1974, "Love's Theme" by Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestrabecame the second disco song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, after "Love Train". MFSB also released "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)", featuring vocals by the Three Degrees, and this was the third disco song to hit number one; "TSOP" was written as the theme song for Soul Train.
C) Rock artists became famous in ME generation, bevabec that's egen people were looking for a new Change in their lifestyles and fashion. And disco was born in that decade fascinating people towards it. Rock artists career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, their music and stagecraft significantly influencing popular music. This period was known as glam rock era. Glam rock is a style of rock that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s performed by musicians who wore outrageous costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, particularly platform shoes and glitter.[1] Glam artists drew on diverse sources across music and throwaway pop culture. That's when the glam rock artists became so popular.
