To help you with this, I have uploaded two images. The first image shows us the functional based organization structure. This flowchart gives us an idea about the job allocations and the prospects in HSBC for which employees are hired in the first place.
The 4 main subdivisions in HSBC's functionalities is pretty much the expected one for a bank, with retail banking and corporate banking holding majority of the responsibilities in HSBC.
The 2nd flowchart given below gives you an idea about the establishment of the bank and the subsidiaries formed in due course of time.
The percentage indicates the magnitude of operations in the respective company type. The types are as shown in the flowchart, i.e. intermediate, operating, associate, resolution entity.
