• Since political parties have different strength at various levels they create hurdles in the process of legislation.
• We can take example of US where one party dominates the Senate and the other dominates the House of representatives.
• Both the parties have different ideologies and priorities. These ideologies and priorities are never the same and hence create a clash keeping most of the matters pending for a long time.
• While these political parties try to attain short term gains to win the elections, the long term gains linger at snails pace.
• The most powerful branch is the judicial branch for a couple of reasons. It can declare the acts of congress as well as the executive unconstitutional, hence thrawrt the process of encroachment of freedom.
