Suppose you are working in a national firm that aimed to enhance the quality of health for poor people. You have two main proposals ; One suggests to raise taxes on rich people and gives more money to the poor. The other suggests to raise taxes on the rich and provides more health care, free to patients, through the network of the national health service. Which proposal do you think is more likely to meet economic objectives? Why?
Enhancing Quality of Health to Poor People
Enhancing the quality of health of poor people can happen on
through governmental or institutional intervention in the health
sector. To consider the distribution of income to the whole
population, government should concentrate in collecting tax from
the rich in a progressive way of taxation. The collected tax should
be efficiently distributed to the people in a way they could find
benefits and advantages from that. Re-distributing the tax amount
directly to the poor people may not help them to overcome the
health problems and facilities they face. Government could help
them achieving a better health atmosphere by providing the
necessary health infrastructure and facilities that a group
deserves. Direct funding may not help them achieving the health
stableness because of the lack of infrastructure facilities they
can approach. Also, the amount directly provided to them may not be
enough to seek health assistance from the private sector. So, it is
always better to assist them directly by providing them free health
assistance through primary and modern health facilities.
Objective calls to tackle the health facilities that the poor
people face, no to fund them.
Lack of proper infrastructure may not help to assist their health
measures with only the provided fund.
Inability of the people to approach private entities may be high
without governmental or public care facilities even if they are
funded of that.
So, it is always better to adopt the measures that can help the
objective. Here, rather than funding the people, providing them
facilities can only tackle the problems of health and related
issues of the poor people.
