How to use a poison distribution table?
The above picture is of Poisson distribution table.
In Poisson distribution table we take as the mean of the distribution. Now lets say we want to calculate the value of P(X? 3) when the or the mean of the distribution is 3.
1) So we look for =3 in the table from the column head
2) Then from the first column on the left we take the value for x=3,
4) We see then on which point it intersects.
5) Here it gets intersect at the point 0.647.
Therefore the value of P(X? 3) =0.647.
