How to use a poison distribution table?
The above picture is of Poisson distribution table.
In Poisson distribution table we take as the mean of
the distribution.Now lets say we want to calculate the value of
P(X? 3) when the
or the mean of
the distribution is 3.
1) So we look for =3 in the table
from the column head
2) Then from the first column on the left we take the value for x=3,
4) We see then on which point it intersects.
5) Here it gets intersect at the point 0.647.
Therefore the value of P(X? 3) =0.647.
