The older people in Canada are deprived of their freedom and the older people believe that the young generation is interfering with their life even when they do not need it. The young generation sneak peeks into all the matter of the older people as they have sell assume that older people need assistance and help in every aspect of life. But, the older people are of different view that it is right that some of them need assistance from their children but not all of them need so. In another article, it is summarized that older women remain happier than their male counterparts. The women are of the view that getting old cannot deprive them of enjoying life on their own choices. But, it is also a fact that older women are not given equal freedom as younger women have. The women maintain the environment of being happy with their growing age. But, It is also seen that the women bear more pain of being ignored and they are not given any importance in the house more than the male older people. I agree with the issues in the articles that older people are being ill-treated due to their growing age. They are being ignored and the younger people interfere in each and every decision.

Ageism is something that has to be faced by each and every person. No one can run from this fact. But, we have to learn that the older people are human beings and they must be treated like that. They also have preferences and their own choices and we must respect their opinion. Giving older people their own space will help them to enjoy their life as they must have gone through many ups and downs in their life. They must not be ill-treated and they must be given assistance when they actually need them with their own choice. These articles have helped in understanding the need of older people as we all have to go through the same phase of life.
