1) A) Draw the dipeptide Y-C at pH 7 and clearly label the peptide bond to be broken in the presence of chymotrypsin.
B) Draw the five-step mechanism for the chymotrypsin clevage of the dipeptide.
C) Label the transition state each time it is formed.
D) What mechanism is used to describe this bisubstrate reaction?

ANSWER Q. C) :
ANSWER Q. D) :
Orderd mechanism is used to describe this bisubstrate (dipeptide) reaction. In which for substrate (peptide) binding and product release for multi-substrate (Polypeptide / Dipeptide) enzymes & for a two-substrate (peptide) with two-product enzyme by using an ordered mechanism in which one particular substrate has to first bind to the enzyme further followed by the other substrate.
