Ans : E) All answers apply/All of the above , are applicable while tunneling uphill because the rock mass has an important influence on the land which the miner have to work on , they have to keep a check on the soil strata and the orientantion of the land so that they should be minning in the right direction , while tunneling there should be a way for the water to drain out of the tunnel , in tunneling gravity plays a vital role always which make the job for the miners much easier because they are working with gravity not againt it , while tunneling uphill you can clean up the tunnel by removing the much from downgrade side . Thats why it is very much important to tunnel uphill so as to provide ventilation that can take place and also the removal should be made easy .
