Why might it be better to use these types of designs rather than the independent-samples design?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Experimental design refers to how participants are allocated to the different conditions in an experiment. On the basic of this we devide it into two:

1: INDEPENDENT MEASURE:

This type of measure is also known as between groups. Different participants are used in each condition of the independent variables. This means that each conditions of the independent includes a different group of participants. In this design more people are needed then with the repeated measures design(More time consuming ).

2: REPEATED MEASURES :

In repeated measures of design same participants take part in each condition of the independent variables. This means that each condition of the experiment includes the same group of participants. As the same participants are used in each condition , participants variables are reduced. It means that fewer people are needed as they take part in all conditions (saves time)

Thats a big reason we used repeated measures of design
