Answer:
The most important strategic moves that propelled Netflix’s successful international expansion are as follows:

  • Maintained Quality Content across region and countries : Netflix was able to secure quality content deal region by region and sometime country by country which help them to penetrate in most of the market.
  • Cost of Scaling was very Less : Being in internet domain, scaling to multiple countries operations wise was much easier compare to Amazon or any operation intensive business, which also help in expansion.
  • No Global Player like Netflix : There were multiple local players in this industry but Netflix was ahead of most of the local players which also help in gaining more market share.
  • Netflix didn't try to enter all market at once : Netflix didn't try to enter in all the market at once, it had taken a particular market and until they were not able to dominate the same they didn't move to the next one. They have learned from all the market dominated as well which help in acquiring other market even easier.
  • Emphasis on improving Mobile App : Netflix realized the importance of mobile uses in developing country and paid special emphasis on mobile application while penetrating in developing nations like India, and other Asian countries. They also launched cheaper subscription plans for developing nation to penetrate to even larger extent.
