Research does not support the notion of a “midlife crisis.” Yet, both Danny and Virginia, who are in their late 40s, have been having a difficult time emotionally both at work and at home for several months now. Explain why they might be feeling this way, and describe the important role that social relationships might play in their development at this stage of life.
2. Tina and Gary’s children have moved out of the house and they now have time and money to devote to themselves. They are aware that most middle-aged people are healthy and have no functional limitations so they are planning to live their lives to the fullest. What are the health issues that Tina and Gary should be aware of at their age? Discuss some of the steps they can take at this time in their lives to ensure a longer and healthier future.
The late 40s would mean that they would be stagnant in their lives. Yet they are working and willing for growth. The late 40s would also mean that new generation is emphasizing their thoughts and it may not be acceptable to them. Howevery they do not even belong to the old generation. They find themselves stuck in between. Hence even at work new strategies being laid may not acceptable to them but they need to continue since it is not their retirement age.Same would happen at home the children may have fixed opininons, they may not listen to their parents. They parents may feel loss of worth or no value as such
Mostly in mid life health problems like diabetes, BP, cholestrol develop. Tina and Gary need to have good diet and healthy lifestyle in order to live a happy life. Borth should reduce the intake of salt, sugar, oil and unhealthy substance. They need to do financial planning as well, in case of any major attacks or accidents etc they need to have good amount in hand. They can go out, visit places, do sight seeing and enjoy. Since all these becomes difficuilt in the old age. Making new friends of the same peer group is also beneficial for maintainig healthy minds and thereby healthy body. Going for walk or doing exercise regularly helps to maintain a good body and control all the health problems.
