In popular imagination, Eve is often depicted as a seductress who tempted Adam and drew him away from God and toward evil. The image of woman, in other words, is often fused with the image of the serpent, and humanity's woes are her responsibility. How does this popular image of Eve compare with the actual depiction of Eve in Genesis 2-3?
When humans evolved on this planet, it was based in maternal society. Men kept moving for various reasons while women stayed at home and looked after the children. As the society grew humans invented religion and from there started the fall of women. Religions helped men gain control over women in the name of God. Women were always been targeted and branded as the weak sex. Bible is no exception where Eve is portrayed as a weak creature who gave in to the temptations of Satan. When God found everything was good and in their place, how come suddenly snake and Eve became sinners and the sin would be carried over to generations till date? Even God was not able to predict his creations. Fusing the image of the serpent with women is even trickier because it would say that all the women are tricky and drifty. This leaves the women as outclass and a creatures that cheat. The main objective of this concept is to make sure that women always stay below men. It also justifies that men are higher beings who are nominated by God to oversee women who are drifty and tricky who prey on people and cheat others with their physical appearance and their honey coated words.
