Discuss FIVE (5) tools to be used for the performance measurement in Malaysia Airlines Bhd.
1)Revenue per available seat kilometre
Revenue per available seat kilometre for the quarter improved 10% year-on-year on the back of the route optimisation exercise conducted earlier.
2)Seat load factor
Load factor is an indicator that measures the percentage of available seating capacity that is filled with passengers. It is released monthly by the Air Transport Association (ATA)
3)Survey approach
A survey approach was used to gather data by administering the questionnaire to the target customers. Statistical tests including correlation, regression and exploratory factor analysis are applied to test on data resulted in support of all hypothesis. The result indicates that all independent variables have strong significant impact on customer satisfaction with online system acceptance and with customer satisfaction.
4)Review of supply contracts with key vendors
The overall review and renegotiation of supply contracts with key vendors, crucial towards setting the airline on the right path to recovery and sustained profitability, also continued in the quarter.Malaysia Airlines will also be investing in new ground service equipment that will improve on-time performances and turnaround times.
5)Cost Performance Index
Managing costs is a key component in reaching the projections under the approved Malaysia Airlines’ Business Plan. A key performance indicator for the entire organization is now centered around cost management with a focus on managing to budget and improving procurement.
