Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution: In the above question employee worked 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday.

So, the total number of hours worked from Monday to Saturday= 10+10+10+10+10+2 = 52 hours

It is given in the above question that overtime for the employee is double after 40 hours.

So, the total number of regular hours = 40 hours

Hence, overtime hours=Total number of hours worked by an employee - Total number of regular hours

Overtime hours = 52 - 40 = 12 hours

It is given in the above question that overtime for the employee is doubled after 40 hours.

So, Overtime Rate = 2 Regular rate ( Here Regular Rate given the question = $12.5)

Overtime Rate = 2 12.5 = $25

a. Hence table given below shows all the values asked in the above question:

The working is shown above.

a. Gross Earning of an employee = Regular Rate Regular Hours + Overtime Rate Overtime Hours

Gross Earning of an employee = 12.5 40 + 25 12 =500 + 300 = $800

Answers:

Total Hours = 52hours

Regular Hours = 40 hours

Overtime Hours = 12 hours

Overtime Rate = $25

Gross Earning of the employee = $800
