question 1
If you were to choose on emphasizing on one of the three key dimensions to a project, which one would you choose to have more of and why?
The three key dimensions to a project are i) time, ii) scope and iii) budget.
A project spans for different amount of time depending on the type of the project, number of people involved, experience and skills of the labours etc. It is an uncontrollable factor and lack of resources is one main reason for projects to fail with respect to time deadlines.
Scope of the project is important as it describes the need of the project. It is necessary to understand the requirements of the project.
Budget is the target cost for a project and it is important to limit this to meet the scope and time constraints. One of the key factor in deciding the progress of the project is its budget. Also it dictates the profit the organisation undertaking the project can make.
Of the above three, scope of the project needs to be understood and emphasized more because it controls both the time and budget of the project. Understanding the scope of the project also helps the organisation to allot the resources beneficially and make the best of the available means.
