Expert Solution

If there's a co-worker with me in a small cubiclewho constantly leaves papers, files, and books all over her desk and leads to distraction, i will handle the situation in the following manner-

1- Humour is a very interesting and constructive thing. First of all i will make my point with the best posssible humour to communicate the co worker his/ her mistake. This will not disturb our relation. Therefore, humour matters.

2- If he/ she still does the same, i will have a talk over coffee and convey him/ her that being neat, clean, tidy is definitely part of professionalism and hence she/ he must improve and get rid of the bad habit.

3- I will also make him/ her realise that being well organised in the minutest part of work life is expected in the "Code of conduct" in organisation.

4- I feel after these efforts, there will be a change in the co- worker. But if he/ she goes on to do the same, i will complain this to the manager because it eventually indeed creates a bad impression in front of clients.

5- Finally, if he/ she repeats the same, i will keep his/ her table neat, clean, tidy, well organised. If i do it 2-3 times, he/ she will feel ashamed of the behaviour and will surely change.
