The confidence interval is not included in the summary output table. Without developing it, would it contain a zero or not? Explain.
Here we have a performed a paired t test for difference of means since we are dealing with dependent data.
Assuming 5% level of significance
Decision about the null hypothesis
Since it is observed that absolute value of t=-5.58 i.e 5.58>tc=1.711, it is then concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected.
Using the P-value approach: The p-value is p = 0.0000 and since p=0.0000<0.05, it is concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected at 5% level of significance. It is even rejected at 1% level of significance.
Conclusion
It is concluded that the null hypothesis Ho is rejected. Therefore, there is enough evidence to claim that population mean μ1 is greater than μ2, at the 0.05 significance level. Hence we conclude that a person’s cholesterol statistically significantly decreases after running for 30 minutes four times per week.
It would not contain 0 since we have rejected the null hypothesis and concluded that the population means are different. so the difference would not contain 0.
