Here we have a performed a paired t test for difference of means since we are dealing with dependent data.

Assuming 5% level of significance

Decision about the null hypothesis

Since it is observed that absolute value of t=-5.58 i.e 5.58>tc​=1.711, it is then concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected.

Using the P-value approach: The p-value is p = 0.0000 and since p=0.0000<0.05, it is concluded that the null hypothesis is rejected at 5% level of significance. It is even rejected at 1% level of significance.

Conclusion

It is concluded that the null hypothesis Ho is rejected. Therefore, there is enough evidence to claim that population mean μ1​ is greater than μ2​, at the 0.05 significance level. Hence we conclude that a person’s cholesterol statistically significantly decreases after running for 30 minutes four times per week.

It would not contain 0 since we have rejected the null hypothesis and concluded that the population means are different. so the difference would not contain 0.
