Ans-The difference between the rocky planets and the gaseous planets are mentioned in below points-

Basically the planets are formed from the left over of a huge star. The particles which are closer to the star generally solid in nature and having high density, these gradually accrete over time and results in the formation of rocky planets. Our solar system consist of four such planets- mercury, venus, earth mars.

While the outer planets of our solar system mainly contain gaseous material because the star from which they are formed it consists of lighter materials like frozen gases at its outer disc.Hence these planets have lighter density and posses comparatively larger size. Our solar system consist of four such planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The rocky planets Found close to the Sun in the warmer region of the solar system while the gaseous planets Found far from the Sun in a colder region of our solar system.

The rocky planets have a solid surface as well as atmosphere whereas the gaseous planets do not have solid surface.

The rocky planets Have few or no moons where as gaseous planets have many moons because the gaseous planets have large size due to which they posses high gravitational force as compared to rocky planets.

The rocky planets Do not have ring systems whereas the gaseous planets Have ring systems because these gaseous planets are far away from the sun where there is more debris (something wrecked or destroyed) left over from when they formed so it turned into either moons or rings.

The rocky planets are also called terrestrial planet and the gaseous planets are knows as jovian planets.

Hope you have understood the answer.

Best Wishes
