History always has been that subject which usually students
found disintegrating and something they run away from. There are
many challenges that teacher face while teaching about history and
historical concepts
- Students do not turn up to class regularly. They take gaps and
might miss out on major information. They are unable to understand
lectures and eventually lose interest.
- Since it has dates and stories. Some students find it really
intriguing and many find it boring
- Making the information concise and easy. There is a lot of
information that is flowing around.
- Students sleep in class and are inattentive.

- Lectures can be combined with movies and documentaries.

- Keep the lectures and discussion the two-way process. Involve
students in reading chapters or explaining the whole historical
context.
- Give weekly assignments where students have to research and
present a short essay about their personal opinions of what they
have learned.
- Build up interest through presentations, charts, showing real
artifacts, controversial stories, etc
- Visiting historical places and museums with students who show
good behavior and interest.
- Monthly positive reinforcements [ like a food treat] when
students do good in their essays and test.
- Repreimanding sometimes when students do not show up or turn up
late.
