You are sitting at your desk trying to study for a test you are very nervous about and all you can focus on is the stereo playing in the other room. You get up, go to the other room and turn down the stereo. Beginning with the external stimuli (the sound) and ending with your movement to the other room, describe: the brain structures that are involved, in sequence and the the nervous system involvement.
The entire sensations and thoughts gets streamlined as one unified experience at the frontal lobe of the brain, which is often referred as the cognitive brain.
The amygdala and the hippocampus are two important parts of the brain and play a vital role in the production and processing of anxiety and fear. The amygdala is the communication hub in the brain and the hippocampus encodes the events associated with threats into memories.
