7. Big picture question: Now that you understand statistics. I want you to answer a couple of questions. Can a skilled statistician “make anything significant”? How would this be/not be accomplished? How could you design a study to guarantee significance?
In my opinion, a skilled statistician can make anything significant. Statistics is a vast field that does cover a wide variety of theories & principles using which a skilled statistician can surely figure out some way to prove anything significant. It can be done by modifying the variables involved in the study, by changing the measurement method, by modifying assessment tools, by modifying the research method, by choosing the target population wisely, etc.
There are different ways to design a study which guarantee significance, they are as follows:
1) Defining the behaviour or attribute clearly objectively.
2) Think practically & objectively.
3) Choose target population wisely.
4) Choose a better research method to study a research problem in order to get relevant results.
5) Select proper & standard assessment tools for the research study.
6) Select more relevant statiscal tool to analyse the data.
7) Take guidance & help of the experts or your researcher if you feel stuck.
