Discuss the challenges posed by the drilling activities on reservoir completion.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The reservoirs are drilled in the fluid to reduce the over all cost of the completion of the reservoir because drilling of the reservoir leads to increase in the production rate. The reservoir drilling fluid can be define as the fluid which possesses the same requirement as the conventional drilling fluid while exhibiting non damaging characterstics to both the formation and completion of the reservoir.Maximizing productivity is the key objective in the design of optimum reservoir drilling fluid.

Challenges Faced in Drilling

1-Hole Cleaning

This is the most important challenge because once you start the drilling after passing the time ,the screens get plugged and cleaning of the screens is very difficult unless the system come out from reservoir. In case of horizontal drilling the challenge become more tedious while in other hand in vertical drilling the challenge is slightly comfort.

2-Lubricity

For the drilling process ,a rotational sharp ring is attached at tip of the drill machine to penetrate against stationary block. And when the penetration occures in the fluid this losses it's lubricity very rapidly so it requires very rapid care to protect it from breaking.

3-Less Loss Of Fluid

Fluid loss prevention is the main objective attribute of the drilling fluid, and when it occures, it causes the irreversible change in the characterstics of drill fluid. For example changes in rheology and density can creat instability in borehole.

4-Formation Inhibition

Some time Inhibition of the formation of the shale gas required other wise it can creat a very dangerous situation so for this polyamines are used .Formation Inhibition is also a very challenging job in reservoir drilling.

5-Fluid Compatibility With Reservoir Fluid

The reservoir drilling fluid should be compatible with the reservoir fluid to prevent reservoir from damaging.

6-Environmental Restriction

Environmental restriction is a wide range challenge which may be variable but not less. The environmental challenges differ with respect to geographical location and also according to the law formulated by the country. The environmental comprised of the biodiversity affect and the affect to the people living nearby the area of the reservoir. And the performance of the work withing the limitation of the environmental conservation is a quite challenging job.

So written all above challenges are faced when the drilling of the reservoir after it's completion is takes place.

A task requires the completion of four activities. A teacher would like to know if differences in the sequence of the four activities results in different task completion times. The teacher selects three students and demonstrates the activities in random order to the students. Then each student completes the task with each of the activity sequences. The completion times are recorded. The following table shows the minutes for each student to complete each task. Time (minutes) Sequence Allen Carla Henry...
