Below, I have listed three native Indian stereotypes by European Americans:

1. Socio-economic profiling: Native Indians are stereotyped as two socio-economic profile: One as a convinience store or a hotel owner, cab driver or motel owner, who lack education , have large families and live shabilly. The alternative profile is of a educated person(or a computer nerd) working in the IT sector.
2. Model-minority: The american media has formulated a certain expected behaviour for Indians. They are expected to win spelling contests and be very intelligent.
3. Socially awkward: Americans think of Inidans to be socially awkward and alienated. They are termed as old fashioned, irrational and weird in their culture.

These stereotypes are most commonly prevelant in some TV shows and movies. They use Indian characters to portray nerds, who are the most different in a group. There have been plenty of cases of Racism and bullying of Indians in America due to these stereotypes. As humans, it is very important that we should not formulate prejudice for any community and try to live in harmony with one another.
