Vitamins are very essential because of hundreds of function they do in body.

Vitamins are of two type according to solubility-

1. Water soluble vitamin- Water soluble are packed in the watery portion of food we eat and directly absorbed into bloodstream when food in broken down during digestion.

All the type of vitamin B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7 B9 and B12) and vitamin C is water soluble.

Function in body- This water soluble vitamin help to free energy we eat in the form of food and they also keep tissue healthy.

Make collagen fiber- Vitamin C is associated with the formation of collagen fiber in the body which help healing wound, form base for teeth and bones and         support blood vessel wall.

Energy production – Nearly all the member of vitamin B are associated with energy production.

Building protein and cell- Vitamin like B6, B12 and B9 helps in cell multiplication by metabolizing amino acid.

2. Rest of the vitamin are fat soluble. Unlike water soluble these vitamins entre in blood through lymph channel in the intestinal wall.

They are vitamin A,D,E,K.

Function of fat soluble vitamin-

Protection of body- Vitamin E plays role of antioxidant and protect body from unstable molecule.

Protect vision- Vitamin keep eyes health and protect vision.

Bone formation- Vitamin A D and E are associated with bone formation.

Blood clotting- Vitamin K plays big role in blood clotting.

Deficiency –

Deficiency lead to many diseases like-

Vitamin C- Scurvy.

Vitamin A- Blindness (Vision problem)

Vitamin D- Rickets and fragile bone

Vitamin B1- Beri-beri

Vitamin B2- Glossitis

Vitamin B3- Pellagra

Vitamin- B6- Anemia

Vitamin E- Fertility disorder

Vitamin K- Blood cloting.

Food for vitamin-

Fish – Include vitamin A, B, D, E

Broccoli- Include vitamin A, B9, C, E, and K

Leafy veg- contain all vitamin

Seeds- contain all from B group and vitamin E    

Egg- Contain –B2,B5,B12, and D
