How do an Electrical Engineering student need Calculus II ? Find an Application that relates to Electrical Engineering?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Electrical engineering student studies subjects like electromagnetic theory , power systems analysis , control systems ,etc in which they require to find Curl , divergence , Use Multivariable calculus like in Load power flow studies where Y bus , Z bus are involved , in control engineering to study different systems their designing involves lots of use of advanced differential calculus .

Also in Network theory when we study transients we need to solve differential equations of 2nd and 3rd order for which we need differential calculus . 3D calculus involving curls and divergence needs to be studied specifically for electromagnetic principles !!

*****For application part above subjectwise examples and topics I have mentioned and based on that many application can be made like making a control system involves state variable analysis that uses differential equations .

For power grid designers load flow is most important thing to analyse where we use methods like Newton Raphson and Jacobians matrix involving multivariate calculus.

There are three ways a student can end up in Calculus II at Augusta University. They can either take Calculus I or place into the class via AP credit. Further, some students take Calculus I the semester immediately before Calculus II but some students wait one or more semesters between taking Calc I and Calc II. A professor has a Calculus II class with 21 students, and they look at students’ final grades and how they got into the class....

Use differential calculus to find the maximum/minimum for an engineering problem. A sheet of metal is 340 mm x 225 mm and has four equal squares cut out at the corners so that the sides and edges can be turned up to form an open topped box shape. Calculate: (a) The lengths of the sides of the cut-out squares for the volume of the box to be as big as possible. (b) The maximum volume of the box.

There is an engineering project that uses complex numbers, electrical circuits. you need to develop a user-defined structure type and a set of operations that will make complex arithmetic virtually as straightforward as arithmetic on C’s built-in numeric types. You will need to define functions for complex I/O as well as for the basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, and for finding the absolute value of a complex number). Hint: the complex number a + bi has a real part a...

Hey i am a Electrical Engineering student So as we all know due to this pandemic situation universities are closed. So we were not able to work on our lab Hardware part so we are trying to cover its software part. Now lets come to the point i am working on my DIGITAL LOGIC DESIGN lab we are using two softwares in that lab one is XILINX and the other one is PROTEUS.now as the end of the semester is...

Give an example of how annealing is used in an engineering application. Also, briefly explain how and why the mechanical properties—for a metal—of yield strength, ductility, hardness, Young’s modulus, ultimate tensile strength, and toughness are different for a cold worked metal vs a metal that has been annealed at a relatively high temperature for a relatively long time (must talk about grain size).
