Over the last 20 years, the US and world have experienced unprecedented change at an unparalleled pace. Terrorist attacks, the rise of China, outsourcing, mobile phones as computers, pandemics, and so much more. In what ways have the above-cited and other phenomena affected Americans? Consider its effects on various groups.
One of the most important things that globalization caused is the movements of goods, services, raw materials and people from one place to the other. This would mean people in various countries have started feeling the heat of globalization as it has brought both opportunities and challenges. One of the most important opportunity is more business opportunities beyond one country but it has given the rights to the companies to hire the best talent from all over the world which means that more Americans are losing their job as it is also supported by the shifting of work to other affordable countries. Secondly, it has given rise to few countries that captured more market even in the developed countries thus bringing more competition to America and the Americans. This would mean that the superpower status of America seems to be slipping from its hands in terms of economy and military. Thirdly, technology has given rise to many people from various developing countries competency over the developed countries. This would mean that may software engineers are from the developed countries to manage most of the jobs on the US which would mean that the country is too dependent on the immigrants and expatriates thus trailing behind from becoming self-reliant. Finally, it’s also facing more terrorist attacks due to its increased international involvement that helped them exploit and utilize them for the benefit of America. Most of the countries that believe that American involvement devastated their countries have started attacking it using various means such as, technology, terrorism, market economy etc.
