On the basis of this quality check we decide to buy fruits or not. This is a statistical method. In technical term this is called sample survey and statistical inference. Although we are not checking all the available fruits in the fruit bucket, but we are picking up some fruits from the bucket at random and by checking their quality we are forming the an idea about the other available fruits in the fruit bucket. If we say that the average score of a class is 62%, then this is also a statistical concept. This means if we want to have a value which can represent the score of all the students present in the class then that will be 62. This is nothing but the arithmetic mean of the class.
