d) As a technician who worked at the plant you named in (c), discuss TWO (2) ethical issues that you may encounter at your workplace. Then, suggest an appropriate action to overcome the issues.
In plant (power generation) engineers, Technicians and other staff members have to stick safety manual depending on their respective position so in such an environment rise of ethical dilemma is obvious. Now I come to question as a technician their are also several ethical issues in face have a broad spectrum depending upon type of plant, type of work you on, plant capacity and locality and of course on your senior. But these are not the real ethical issue as professionals.
In term of real ethical issue that are like a heavy power shedding start in one line when you are on work and the same time their is fault reported nearby a residency and you have response the call. As a technician both the problem you can solve but not at the same time so you have to choose one among two. Now the ethical dilemma is that cause of power shedding a large amount of power unit are going in waste and on the other side no power loss but people have concerns about the transmission line lying on ground.
To call the duty as a technician ethics says you have to concerns about human being and also about the machine/Work Station. In this case you I believe you have to Immediately ask people to be calm and stay away from transmission line because line is not having current so it's not dangerous but still for precautions people should away from it. Then first fixed the power shedding because it can be dangerous to the transmission line and transformer after that fix the faulty line.
On the second scenario supposed in an emergency your supervisor call you to fix a minor problem in transform in which you are not trended and their is no other one also who can.
This type of ethical problem are common in and as a professional best way to deal is that you say no but you have take adequate action so that machines not burnt/dysfunctions and call the expertise to solve it.
