A municipal wellfield is designed to consist of five water-supply wells, each rated at 16 litre/s. The wells are located 100 m apart along a north-south line and fully penetrate a 20m thick confined aquifer that has a transmissivity of 1000m2/day. . Estimate the maximum drawdown 500m west of the centre well assuming that all wells are 40cm in diameter and the radius of influence of each well is 800m. [15 Marks] 4b. If the calculated drawdown value is considered too low, propose 3 design options to ensure an increased drawdown.
The maximum drawdown of the well is by pumping to A and E is 1.5855m and the results are considerable
