  1. Molecular chaperones are proteins that assist the conformational folding or unfolding and the assembly or disassembly of other macromolecular structures. The chaperones are concerned primarily with protein folding.
  2. Molecular chaperones play a unique role in protecting cells from being damaged under environmental stress such'as extreme heat or mental stress.
  3. Molecular chaperones play a role in regulating the ATPase activity of heat sock proteins.
  4. The binding of chaperones stabilizes the unfolded polypeptides there by preventing incorrect folding and allow plotpeptides chain to fold into its correct formation .
  5. The main role is to prevent both newly synthesized polypeptides chains and assembled subunits from aggregating into non functional structures. Chaperones are involved in transport if membranes.
  6. Chaperones regroup of proteins that have functional similarity and assist in protein folding. They are proteins tha have the ability to prevent non specific aggregation by binding th non active proteins.
  7. Chaperones of the Hsp70 class and their partner proteins interact with nascent polypeptide chains or ribosomes and prevent the miss folding.
