The first question that should come up while talking about small projects is that how do we recognize that a project is small? The answer deals with a lot of aspects like small budget and less time, hence in order to manage such projects the technique of project management also needs to be appropriate. While managing small projects the stages has to be concise without less elaboration hence the planning needs to be appropriate keeping in mind the time limitation of the smaller budget or both. The objectives and the scope of the project needs to be defined accordingly and they should be clear and well explained which will reduce the probability of a bottleneck or an impediment. Change management if any needs to be conveyed throughout the whole team and proper impact analysis is required so that the existing functionalities are not effected. The manager needs to track and report the progress of the report and any diversion from the schedule needs to be dealt carefully so that the output is not affected. The employees may have come out of their conventional roles and help other team members who are lagging and the most important is the role of the manager who needs to ensure every level of support so that the process is smooth and the objectives are met.
