occur apply Identity versus Role Confusion that occur to a 16year old female

This is the 5th stage of psychological development, in which there would be identity vs confusion of role. This stage could be identified as the stages which is one of the most confusing. In this age group, there would be a shift in the sociological pattern. In the earlier societies, there had been a distinction between the adulthood as well as childhood. In many of the societies, girls were allowed to get married around 13-14 years of age. In this age, children or younger adults were always kept on the back foot, without the freedom of making their own decisions. They were not given the adult status. Even though boys had the liberty of participating in the important life decions, girls were never allowed to do so. Also, they were not thought to be responsible enough and were not smart enough to understand the decisions taken by the adults.

Even today, due to the accelerated growth, the younger people expect to be treated like adults though they are not treated in that manner. As a result, there occur control conflicts between the parents and the younger adults. She does not like to be called a child and she is still referred to in the same manner. Though, her parents expect her to be behaving like an adult.
