Specifically, how did the declaration passed by the Stamp Act Congress and The Declaratory Act passed by Parliament shift the entire focus/debate of discussion during the mid-1760’s? After that, was compromise possible? Why/why not?
2- How did the Nullification Crisis in 1832 (South Carolina) mirror the economic differences of north/south and the issue of states’ rights? How did these same issues bring about a final split of the union in 1861?
1. Stamp act Congress and declaratory act passed by parliament proves to be a phenomenal incident of the history, it shift entire debate on itself. As stamp act Congress was the first time arrange meeting was held in Federal Hall to protest against the act. They think that direct taxes are right of colonies not the empire. This illegal and active action of Congress alarms the British empire in North America. All colonies of North America together protest against the empires in the history for the first time and they have strong sentiment for this act. So the entire focus lies on the act.
Compromise was not the case after all the huge and significant protest. After that British empire issued order from London to not to enforce the act, they made many modifications in the act.
2. Nullification crisis in 1832 was a major happening of the history. In that time specially Carolina was worst affected by economical crisis. The federal government levied the federal tax to the state. But due to protest the government nullify the tariff. Whenever there will be crisis the upper section of the society will have a upper cut edge from the government and lower section will be suffer. This shows the discrimination of the society. The government finally down to the people decision but the issue of right of the state to take decision will remain a major issue.
The Soviet Union had the same issue of right of state becomes the reason to decomposition of the union state. The state power and the local administration power till that time is not ambiguous.
