I have finished a lab but in finding the percent deviation I keep coming up with different answers using the formula.

Measured values for 4 unknown liquids are

6.6c and 80.7c.

-22.9c and 76.7c,

-43.8c and 81.6c,

5.5c and 80.1c

The literature values are

7.0c and 81c,

-23c and 77c,

-45.5 and 77.3c,

6.0c and 80c

Are these answers correct? 5.71% .37% .434% .39% 3.74% 5.56% 8.33% .125% ???

Expert Solution

Measured values for 4 unknown liquids are The literature values are

6.6c and 80.7c.                        7.0c and 81c,

The difference in result is 7.0-6.6= 0.4

Now the percentage difference of result = 0.4/7.0*100=5.71%

The difference in result is 81.0-80.7= 0.3

Now the percentage difference of result = 0./81.0*100=0.37%

-22.9c and 76.7c,                    -23c and 77c,

The difference in result is-23-(-22.9)= 0.1

Now the percentage difference of result = 0.1/23*100=0.434%

The difference in result is 77.0-76.7=0.3

Now the percentage difference of result = 0.3/77.0*100=0.39%

-43.8c and 81.6c,                    -45.5 and 77.3c,

The difference in result is -45.5-(-43.8)=-1.7

Now the percentage difference of result = -1.7/ - 45.5*100=3.74%

The difference in result is 77.3-81.6=-4.3

Now the percentage difference of result = -4.3/77.3*100=-5.56%

5.5c and 80.1c                         6.0c and 80c

The difference in result is 6.0-5.5=0.5

Now the percentage difference of result = 0.5/6.0*100=8.33%

The difference in result is 80.0-80.1=-0.1

Now the percentage difference of result =- 0.1/80.0*110=-0.125%
