You are the director of information technology at a company that frequently hires student interns. The interns tend to have limited experience with using file, disk, and system management tools. As part of your job, you lead workshops that teach the interns the many tasks and functions they can perform using these tools.
Choose three categories of tools, such as disk cleanup, PC maintenance, file compression, cloud storage and backup. Use the web to research popular tools or apps for each category, if they are available as part of an operating system, and the costs for each. Choose one program from each category, and read user reviews and articles by industry experts. Describe situations where you would use each type of tool. Share any experiences you have with using the tools.
The three tools to be used in different categories are:
PC Maintenance: Avast antivirus is a free tool which can be used for maintaining the PC virus free and it has feature rich and updated virus database. It is useful and the basic version is free so there is no cost involved in the same. It can be used on a daily basis to maintain the health of the system
File Compression: 7-zip is a popular file compression program. It again comes with a open source and GPL license and is completely free to use. It has good compression ability and supports most operating systems. This can be used to compress any big file and then can be stored or sent to any other user with a smaller storage requirement.
Cloud backup: Google Drive is an online cloud back up utility which can be accessed by visiting the online site. It is also completely free and comes with the security and assurance of Google. It can be accessed post the creation of a google account. Important documents can be backed up and stored for further usage using this tool
