Compare and contrast all three historical perspectives on motor development (Behaviorist, Maturational, and Dynamical Systems) and be sure to identify the key people in each perspective and their contribution to the field
Behaviourism is defined as an objective and scientific methods based psychological method or approach.
It only related to observable behaviour based on stimulus-response.
It states that all learning of all behaviours occurs due to environmental experiences.
In 1913, John Watson state that learning of all behaviours is due to environmental interaction.
New experiences are learned through classical conditioning. Because infants are born with the ‘tabula rasa’ mental state.
On the other hand,
The maturationist theory was developed by Arnold Gesell.According to this theory development is continues biological, predictable process.
He oberserve development of people from their infancy to adulthood and found that development is determined by heredity of children.
Systems psychology studies behaviour and experience of people in systems(complex).it is based on system theory.Mr.Roger Barker, Gregory Bateson, and other psychologist were associated with the development of this.
